Amazon Prime Day 2019 Basic Facts
-
Once a year, it’s like Black Friday in July, and Amazon holds it’s annual Prime Day.
-
Prime Day starts on Monday, July 15th, at 12:00 AM PT (3:00 AM ET) and ends Wednesday July 17th, at 12:00 AM PT (3:00 AM ET)
-
Deals are only for Prime members, so if you aren’t a member today, go ahead and sign up for a free 30 day trial
. (You can always cancel after!)
-
You can score some of the best deals of the year during Prime Day, but it’s pays to be prepared. Deals come and go by the hour, and hot items sell out fast.
Download the Amazon App for Some of the Best Deals this Prime Day
Why you should download the app for Prime Day…
- Right now there is a special deal to download the Amazon app and receive a $10 credit. (for first time app downloads)
- Even better, once you make a purchase via the app, you can receive an additional $10 credit!
- App users get a sneak peek of upcoming Prime Day deals.
- App users can mark upcoming deals on your watch list and receive notifications when deals are live.
- App users can unlock special 20% off discounts using your camera (and the app).
How To Tell If You Are Getting a Good Deal?
- Not every “deal” is really a deal. Many sellers increase their prices right before Prime Day, and then lower them back down on Prime Day. That “deal” that may look like a high percentage off, may not really just be such a deal after all. Make sure you are getting a good deal by reviewing the price history and trends on camelcamelcamel.com.
- camelcamelcamel.com is a third-party website that will show you the price history for the product, including the high and low price. You can also use the data to see if there are any common trends in pricing and when the product goes on sale.
How to Double Dip On Savings
There are many shopping portals that you can use to “stack” or “double dip” in savings when shopping online. Most of these work by giving you cash back made for purchases if you shop through their app. (You visit their app, and then from there, go to the Amazon site using their link. It’s incredibly minimal effort for easy savings!)
The deals and offers on these portals can change daily, so my advice would be to download all of them, and do a quick check before shopping to see which one is offering the best deals.
