And while having a friendly neighbor to borrow from is great in these cases, sometimes you have to work with what you’ve got. I’ve put together the following list of my favorite baking and cooking substitutions so you don’t have to fret when you don’t have everything you need. (I’ve even found that I like some of these food substitutes better – in my opinion, applesauce in place of eggs in brownies is MUCH better!)
