Frequently Asked Questions
Question: Why can’t I just add up the costs myself? Why do I need THIS Disney World budget worksheet?
Answer: You can create a budget on your own…However, there is a strong chance you will not capture everything you need to budget for. The marketing department at Disney World are experts on selling to you when in the parks. This handy guide helps identify all of the various categories that you MAY spend money in, so you can be PREPARED up front and in advance of your trip. Don’t believe me? Take 2 minutes right now and jot down all of the categories that you would include in your budget….
Did it include things like an autograph book for your precious memories spent with characters? Or tips intended for the bus drivers who bring you between resorts/parks? What about experiences like Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique?
This worksheet has it all, so you can budget as needed and not be hit with any financial surprises on your magical vacation.
Question: Does this budget worksheet work on Macs? PCs? Laptops? iPads? Mobile Phones?
Answer: When you purchase your Disney World budget worksheet, you will receive two versions; one intended for your laptop/PC/Mac and one intended for tablets (i.e. iPhones) and mobile phones.
Why you ask? The Disney World budget worksheet is intended to be interactive and can be customized for your specific situation. For example, if you are driving to Disney World, you likely don’t want to see all of the potential costs with flying, right? Or if you are not electing the meal plan, you don’t care about the cost of the plan, but rather the cost of individual meals.
In order to be interactive and customizable, the workbook uses Excel macros. However, the use of macros is typically not available on tablets and mobile phones.
For the best user experience, you will want to use the Disney World budget worksheet on your laptop/computer. But, because we live in a world on the go, the spreadsheet is also available to you in a non-macro version. The downside…? You won’t be able to customize for your specific situation. Don’t get me wrong, all of the functionality is there on both versions, but your experience is better on a laptop or computer.
Question: I’m not too tech-savvy…Will I know how to use this worksheet?
Answer: There are detailed directions within the workbook to hand-hold you through the process. (Though if you are technology-proficient, you will likely be able to skip right over these and get right to use.)
If you cannot figure it out on your own, and need an extra hand, email [email protected]. We’ll do our best to walk you through the process.
Question: Does the Disney World budget spreadsheet come with costs already included?
Answer: This workbook provides you with the structure to create a budget for your Disney World trip, however no actual costs are provided within this workbook. The reasoning…? It’s impossible for us to know what your costs are for your specific situation. And where costs are typically fixed (such as the cost of Disney’s Memory Maker PhotoPass,) there is no way of knowing when costs are going to change.
You should be able to estimate most of your (Disney-specific) costs through the Walt Disney World official website.
Question: I’m going to Disney Land, not Disney World. Does this budget worksheet still apply?
Answer: 99% of this worksheet should apply to your Disney Land (or other Disney) vacation. Enjoy!
